Dental Assisting

Develop the skills needed to play a key role in a rapidly growing health occupation as a Dental Assistant. Dental Assistants provide patient care, take dental radiographs, prepare patients and equipment for dental procedures and provide administrative procedures under the supervision of dentists and dental hygienists.

In the Dental Assisting program, you may also earn the following certifications:

  • Basic Life Saving (BLS)

  • American Medical Technologists Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)

  • Ohio State Dental Board Certified Radiographer's License

Dental Assisting Admission Requirements

  • Submit a completed program application through https://acwhcc.axstudent.com along with a $50 non-refundable application fee.

  • Provide official transcripts or high school diploma or equivalent.

*Fees include all certification testing fees, drug testing, physical and uniforms. Students are required to obtain 2-step TB testing, Hepatitis B series, as well as a Hepatitis B titer, Tdap or booster with the last 10 years, and Influenza, Varicella, MMR and/or titers to prove immune factors. All vaccines and immune testing are not part of tuition and must be paid for by the student. Students seeking financial aid assistance must complete the FAFSA and associated financial aid paperwork. Payment arrangements must be made prior to the first day of class.
