Program Information

The Senior Only option is for ambitious high school students entering their senior year.  Completed most of your curriculum requirements?   On track for graduation in January or next May?  Extra room in your schedule?  Add to your skills AT NO COST through Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center’s  new “Senior Only” program, individualized to meet your schedule and needs.     

Senior Only can give you industry-recognized credentials that can broaden your options as you enter college or make you more marketable as you enter the workforce on graduation.  The Senior Only options are taught at the Career Center by experienced, industry-credentialed experts, licensed through the Ohio Department of Education, and teaching with the Career Center’s Adult Education Department. 

 

Do I Qualify for the Senior Only Program?

You may enroll in the Senior Only Program if you live in Ashland or West Holmes Counties, are in your senior year of high school (12th grade) and are NOT enrolled in other career technical programs resulting in industry credentials.

What Credits Will I Earn By Graduation?

  • 12 points on a series of industry credentials
  • A composite 13 or better on the ACT WorkKeys Assessment (made up of 3 tests), with at least 3 points on each test
  • High school credits

What Programs Are Offered

manufacturing option: welding ACWHCC senior only program

Manufacturing Option

Earn one or more welding certifications from the American Welding Society.   

business and finance option: business and finance ACWHCC senior only program

Business and Finance Option

Earn four or more Microsoft Office Specialist certifications from the following options:

  • Microsoft Word Specialist
  • Microsoft Excel Specialist
  • Microsoft PowerPoint Specialist
  • Microsoft Outlook Specialist
  • Microsoft Word Expert
  • Microsoft Excel Expert
