Sports Medicine (Ashland High School)

Program Information

Thinking of a possible career in sports medicine, fitness, or athletic training? Join the Sports Science program to explore a wide-range of careers while learning the importance of holistic wellness through proper nutrition and exercise. Learn to coach and motivate clients, athletes, and patients via the same advanced exercise equipment and techniques as fitness and wellness centers nationwide. Use sports specific training, injury recognition, and physical therapy to prepare and rehabilitate the physically active.

Qualifying students in this program may receive certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED, and curriculum in this program can lead to personal training licensing.  

Students in this program may qualify for articulated college credit.

SM Hosts Girls with Goggles
Several SM students volunteered their day-off to host pink-shirted sixth grade girls who chose to visit the SM program during the Girls with Goggles event.  Visitors learned the proper way to wrap an injury and played a body part ID game devised by SM students.
