Fundamental Welding


Welding skills are used to fabricate and repair projects.   Fundamental Welding Technology is a short-term program (150 hours) designed to prepare students for one (1) of four American Welding Society Qualification Certifications; Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc (MIG)-(GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc (TIG)-(GTAW), Flux Core Arc (FCAW). Students must declare which certification at time of enrollment.

In the Welding Technology program, you may also earn one of the following certifications:

American Welding Society Welding Qualification Certifications- must choose one (1) before beginning of program.

  • GasMetal Arc Welding (GMAW or Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)

Welding Technology Admission Requirements

  • Submit a completed program application through along with a $50 non-refundable application fee.
  • Provide official transcripts or high school diploma or equivalent.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Fundamental Welding does not qualify for Federal Financial Aid due to the length of the program.  You may qualify for financial assistance through Job and Family Services in your county.
