Dental Assisting

Program Information

Develop the skills you need to play a key role in a rapidly growing health occupation as a Dental Assistant in our 600-hour Dental Assisting program. Dental Assistants work under the supervision of dentists performing a variety of patient care and laboratory duties.

  • Chairside Assisting
  • Dental Laboratory Procedures
  • Methods and Materials Utilized in Prevention, Diagnosis, Treatment of Periodontal and Other Dental Diseases
  • Lab experience is taught at the 9th Street Dental Center
  • Includes160-hour externship training provided at dental offices


Program Certification 

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • American Medical Technologists Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)
  • Columbus Dental Society radiography certified by the Ohio State Dental Board

Admission Requirements 

  • Individuals must have obtained a high school diploma, equivalency, or GED® before enrolling
  • Individuals must NOT have any previous or pending disqualifying offenses
  • Good reading comprehension
