The basic types of aid for Career Development Programs:

1. WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act). Also, contact any county's Ohio Means Jobs office for funding options (please plan six weeks prior to program start date for this process).
Trade Adjustment Act (TAA)
Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation of Ohio (BVR)
2. Pell Grant:
Can be applied to a Career Development Programs (600-900 hour). The Pell Grant is based on need and does not have to be repaid. Award amounts are based on the previous year’s income and probably will not pay for the entire program.

3. Federal Direct Loans:
For approved programs 300 hours or greater. Student loans must be repaid after the student leaves the program.

b. Contact the Financial Aid officer and receive the
Financial Aid Award Notification.
Tell the Financial Aid Office how much you would like to borrow. Remember you will have to pay
everything back with interest!
