Administrative
Medical Office Specialists play a key role in medical office, clinic, nursing
home, and hospital settings. This
multi-skilled employee is competent in medical records management, insurance
processing, billing and coding, word processing and office management tasks.
Technical concepts required to coordinate administrative office
functions in the healthcare setting are taught.
This 600-hour program also includes medical terminology/ anatomy and
transcription.
Each participant will sit for the National Health Career Association's Certified Billing and Coding Examination (CBCS).
This
program provides instruction in:
computer
skills including word processing,
office
management-greeting/scheduling patients,
medical
law and ethics,
bookkeeping
- accounts receivable,
medical
terminology/anatomy,
medical
billing and coding,
medical
transcription,
medical
records management,
understanding
diagnostic tests/procedures.
